The LitSIG Web Conference

The IATEFL Literature Special Interest Group (LitSIG) Web Conference is one of the ways in which we bring together our international community to celebrate, explore, and discuss the role of literature in English language teaching and learning. As an online event, it provides an accessible space where teachers, teacher educators, researchers, writers, and literature enthusiasts from different contexts can connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

Through a varied programme of talks, workshops, discussions, and shared literary experiences, the Web Conference offers opportunities to discover new approaches to working with literature in the classroom, reflect on current practices, and explore the many ways literary texts can inspire meaningful language learning. It also gives participants the chance to hear different voices and perspectives from across the international ELT community.

For LitSIG, the Web Conference is more than an academic or professional event: it is an opportunity to strengthen our community and create connections through a shared interest in literature. By making space for dialogue, creativity, and collaboration, we hope to encourage both experienced practitioners and those beginning to explore literature in ELT to share their ideas, ask questions, and continue learning together.
