Pre Conference Event

LitSIG Pre-Conference Event 

The IATEFL LitSIG Pre-Conference Event (PCE) is a special one-day event held immediately before the main IATEFL International Conference. IATEFL’s Special Interest Groups organise these events to give participants the opportunity to spend a full day exploring a particular area of the profession in greater depth. PCEs may be organised by an individual SIG or jointly by several SIGs and also provide an opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues who share similar professional interests.

For LitSIG, the PCE is an important opportunity to bring together teachers, teacher educators, researchers, writers, and literature enthusiasts for an extended exploration of a theme related to literature, extensive reading and English language education. Through presentations, discussions, practical sessions, and opportunities for exchange, participants can engage with different perspectives, reflect on their own contexts, and make connections between literature, language, culture, technology, and classroom practice.

Above all, the LitSIG Pre-Conference Event is about spending time together around a shared professional interest. It offers a chance to exchange ideas, meet members of the LitSIG community face to face, make new professional connections, and begin the IATEFL Conference with a day dedicated to literature and its place in language education.
